I believe the very first Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit Edition I ever bought was the 2009 issue with Bar Rafaeli on the cover, which someone sold as a back issue for a mere 50 cents at a local flea market. Oh I’m totally into buying old stuff especially old magazines because sometimes you just don’t know what you’ll find. And sometimes you just get lucky, man!
50 cents for a magazine with all those babes in there is quite a bargain right?
Yeah, yeah you’d probably tell me why not just download that copy off the internet instead of paying that amount.
Well, call me old school but I just like touching the glossy pages of old magazines.
Anyway, let’s get back to why I was fascinated with Irina Shayk way back then. Being new to SI, I was unfamiliar with the models but the one that really stood out, well, you guessed it! Her name was Irina Shayk!
How predictable.
Well that’s the name on the title of this article right? So why are you so surprised?
Anyway, it was Irina Shayk’s brown hair, curvaceous figure—and lips that immediately captured my attention. I could barely get past the pages she was on. I still leafed through the entire magazine though but immediately went back to where she was and spent a good couple of minutes just admiring her beauty. Okay, okay I did more than that but for the most part I did just ogle at her beauty.
Thanks to her I got hooked on Sports Illustrated and I’ve been a subscriber since then. Oh and one day I’ll show you guys how much of a hoarder I am with all the different magazines I’ve picked up over the years. And yes, I use them as my source material to bring girls to your attention, you know, sharing the love and all that crap.
I would later learn that Irina Shayk debuted in the 2007 SI Swimsuit Edition and became the cover model on the 2011 issue – a world record for the prestigious magazine (and her) because she was the very first Russian model to have done that.
At only 31 years old (She just had her birthday in January), Irina already has quite the portfolio. She has had a long history of modeling, starting with contracts from Guess, the Victoria’s Secret catalog and Lacoste as early as 2009.
After appearing on Letterman in 2011, Irina was featured in several foreign editions of publications like Elle Spain, GQ Mexico, Esquire UK, Glamour Russia and Vanity Fair Italy. She worked with famed photographer Mario Testino for an editorial that came out in Vogue Spain. In the United States, Irina was featured a number of times in Harper’s Bazaar in 2013. If you want to get all of those issues well let me tell you this – that’s a huge number of magazines you’d have to collect. So if you’re planning to collect them all you’d better start now.
Apart from appearing on print media, Irina has also taken part in ad campaigns for Givenchy, Saks Fifth Avenue, Victoria’s Secret, Armani Exchange among others.
It’s 2017 now, 8 years from when she started. This is usually the time when a celebrity’s popularity drops off. That doesn’t seem to be the case for Irina, she’s pretty much still very visible not to mention hotter than ever. She’s probably hotter now that she’s had a kid than she was before.
Well, that’s just me of course. And I’m kinda sick. Irina got knocked up and just gave birth to her first child with actor Bradley Cooper. Yeah, the same Bradley Cooper who starred in Silver Linings Playbook and the same guy who broke up with Burberry model Suki Waterhouse after she’d already been introduced to his mother.
And before ending up with Irina Shayk he was dating all the Hollywood hotties we would’ve loved to be with. Renee Zellweiger, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Esposito, Suki Waterhouse and a host of other actresses.
Yeah that blue eyed manly bundle of blonde manly manliness. Him.
They’re gonna make such beautiful babies that in the future’ll probably be featured here too.

Anyway, back to Irina. Before Bradley Cooper, she was with Cristiano Ronaldo so it’s not like she hasn’t had any experience with dating extremely hot men before. In her case, it’s quality over quantity. So, beat that Bradley Cooper!
You’d think being pregnant would stop Irina from walking the runway, but no, she was there at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris. The first time, she was seen in grey lingerie and black boots, and a trench coat; her baby bump seen by the crowd. The second time, she wore a red bra and stilettos, with her baby bump hidden by a fringed robe.
Strutting on the cat walk with another human inside you back then was a rare occurrence and Irina managed to pull it off with aplomb. Heck, some people didn’t even notice or they were too stunned by her beauty to realize her present condition.
Fast forward to March this year and she’s given birth to a healthy baby girl that has definitely been blessed with both parent’s good looks. Sheesh, genetics can be quite unfair to common people eh?
Irina is currently getting her body back in shape to stun all of us again. And if you didn’t know that she got knocked up, you probably wouldn’t have noticed either.
But take a look at those knockers. They’re definitely bigger. I’d expect that since they’re supposedly filled with milky goodness that’s both good for the baby and Daddy. Her ass has gotten bigger too. A few squats every day and they should be back to their toned glory. Since she didn’t really pack that much weight, a few days at the gym should bring her size back down to her original lovely curvaceous state.
And her face? Well, not much has changed. It’s still the same pretty Irina we’ve all come to love over the years.
Me, I’m just excited to pick up a Sports Illustrated magazine (or any magazine for that matter) and see her beautiful face and body on the splash page again.
