Who is Ida Ljungqvist?<\/h2>\n

Ida is a Tanzanian-Swedish model who has the distinction of being the first woman born in Africa to ever be chosen as a Playboy Playmate.\u00a0 She first became a Playmate for March 2008 then went on to become the 50th Playmate of the year (2009).\u00a0 Also in 2009, Ida co-hosted the Playboy New Year’s Eve Party in Miami, Florida.\u00a0 Ida has also appeared as herself on the TV shows “The Girls Next Door” and “Last Call With Carson Daily.”\u00a0 Moreover, she has also been featured in a couple of “Playboy” videos.<\/p>\n

Ida Ljungqvist is also the first Playmate of the Year to publicly dedicate her title to philanthropic work through non-profit charities and organizations.<\/p>\n

Her Early Life<\/h2>\n

Ida Ljungqvist was born on September 27, 1981, in Tanzania to a Swedish father and Tanzanian mother.\u00a0 Because her father works for UNICEF, Ida has lived in a dozen different countries and primarily grew up in East Africa and Southeast Asia.\u00a0 She speaks English, Swedish, and Swahili and has a degree in fashion design and marketing.<\/p>\n

Career Journey<\/h2>\n

Ida was discovered by 2007 Playboy Playmate of the Year, actress, and television host,\u00a0Sara Jean Underwood<\/a> while she was working as a sales specialist in a Bebe clothing store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.\u00a0 Playboy had no doubt in recognizing her potential.\u00a0 Ida was initially stunned by the offer but being the high spirited, open minded, and adventure loving girl that she is, she plunged in to grab the opportunity and the rest, as we say, is hot history.<\/p>\n

In December 2007, Idat married Joshua R. Lang. After 5 years together, the couple filed for divorce in September 2008.\u00a0 In November of the same year, MSNBC reported a custody struggle between them over their pet Chihuahua.<\/p>\n

In 2012, it came to shore that Ida was dating American glamour model and fellow Playboy Playmate Kristina Shannon.\u00a0 The two first met in 2008 when Shannon was still dating Hugh Hefner.<\/p>\n
