Maitland Ward was born as Ashley Maitland Welkos on February 3, 1977, in Long Beach, California. She is of English, German, and Norwegian descent.
Career Journey
Maitland made her acting debut on the soap opera, Bold and the Beautiful in 1994 when she was 16. She had a two-year stint on the show. Maitland went on to guest star on shows such as USA High, Rules of Engagement, and the seventh season of ABC’s Home Improvement. She also co-starred alongside Mario Lopez in the 1997 television film Killing Mr. Griffin. Maitland landed a main role on Boy Meets World in 1998 at the beginning of the show’s sixth season. She remained a series regular until it ended in 2000. After that, Maitland appeared in the independent film Dish Dogs (2000) and the 2004 comedy White Chicks with Shawn and Marlon Wayans.
Since 2004, Maitland has been seen in the CBS comedy Out of Practice (2005). Maitland was also the lead in the untitled Michael Jacobs pilot. In 2007, she guest-starred on Rules of Engagement (2007) on CBS, opposite David Spade.

In October of 2006, she married John T. Baxter and the wedding was profiled in the New York Times Society Pages. In 2007, Maitland was accepted to NYU and studied Theatre while pursuing roles on the stage. She lived in New York City for two years before relocating back to Los Angeles in the spring of ’09.
