Katie Morgan, or Sarah Lyn Carradine, is an American model, exotic dancer, former radio talk show host, and adult film actress. Throughout her 16-year career, she has gone under various different names, including Katie Megan and Kate Morgan. Initially, she chose a career in the adult film industry to pay off her bail and enter a plea deal after her arrest in 2000 for bringing more than 100 pounds of marijuana into the United States from Mexico. She made her film debut in Ed Power’s ‘Dirty Debutantes 197’ in 2001. She quickly found she liked her new profession and rose to become one of the industry’s greatest personalities. When she (first) retired in 2008, she had already appeared in over 400 projects.
Katie landed her first mainstream role in Kevin Smith’s 2008 comedy film. In 2015, she signed a contract with Nexxxt Level Talent Agency.

Katie Morgan was born on March 17, 1980, in the Los Angeles suburb of Reseda. She was raised in an intensely religious family, was homeschooled, and had a difficult upbringing.
Authorities apprehended her when she was 20 years old while attempting to smuggle 100 pounds of marijuana into the United States across the Mexican border. She was then imprisoned for the next four months at Arizona’s Douglas County Jail.
Career Journey
After being behind bars for four months, Katie Morgan got out on bail and was waiting at home for her court dates. During this time, she viewed a lot of adult movies, and the notion of joining the industry struck her. She took the initiative and contacted an established adult movie actor whose phone number she had discovered while rummaging through a friend’s Rolodex. The adult movie actress gave Kate the contact information for an agency and advice on industry dos and don’ts. She later described the conversation as “the best counsel someone has probably ever given” her in her life.
“I got into the industry in 2001. I was out on bail on federal importation charges, and I was bored and watching a lot of porn. One day while watching a Shane’s World party movie, it occurred to me that they weren’t having any fun, they were getting paid too. I did some research and a few days later walked into Jim South’s office and told him I wanted to be a porn star.”
Katie had no idea she’d become a household name in those early days. She only wanted to make a few movies and make some money before going to prison. Her appearance in Ed Power’s ‘Dirty Debutantes 197’ not only helped her pay off her bail and plea deal but also inspired her to seek a full-time career in the adult film industry. Over the next seven years, she built up her filmography with projects such as ‘Black Cravings 4’ (2001), ‘Babysitter 10’ (2002), ‘Mary Carey on the Rise’, and ‘Another Man’s Wife’ (2007). In 2008, she retired from the business but the official announcement came a year later.
In 2002, Morgan formed a long-term partnership with HBO. She hosted a number of shows for them. Katie even made a guest appearance as herself in 2008 on HBO’s comedy-drama ‘Entourage’ (2004-11). In September 2015, she announced that she was returning to the adult film industry and had signed a deal with Nexxxt Level Talent Agency. Her recent projects include ‘Along for the Ride’ (2016), ‘Vixens from Venus’ (2016), and ‘Lesbian House Hunters Part 14’ (2017).

In 2008, Katie Morgan met her future husband James Jackson. They were both in relationships at the time, so just a friendship developed. Months later, on another movie set, they met again and each found that the other was single by then. Katie did not have to tell him what she used to do for a living as he already was well aware of her history. They got married in 2009.
She chose “Katie” as her first name as it is also the first name of Scarlett O’Hara, the protagonist of ‘Gone with the Wind’. She picked “Morgan” as her surname because of Captain Morgan’s Rum.
